Rebuilding America through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law: A Message from Rep. Huffman
Hello,
For decades, American infrastructure has been crumbling, outdated, and dangerously lagging behind our peers across the globe. Thanks to the historic legislation Democrats have passed under President Joe Biden’s leadership, we’re back in action and building a better America. To date, the Biden administration has announced $454 billion in Bipartisan Infrastructure Law funding for 56,000 projects across all 50 states, as well as $110 billion in clean energy manufacturing investments and more than 170,000 clean energy jobs from the Inflation Reduction Act.
Rep. Huffman celebrates $15 million in funding for the Delta-Mendota Canal Floating Solar Project
I am laser-focused on making sure California, and especially the North Coast, gets its fair share of these transformational federal investments. Here are some of the major projects I’ve been able to secure funding for in our region:
- $426 Million for Humboldt Bay Offshore Wind Farms
- $400 Million for the Seismic Retrofit of the Golden Gate Bridge
- $41.4 Million to Help Put Better, Cleaner Buses on the Roads in Marin and Santa Rosa
- $32 Million for SMART Extension of Passenger Rail to Healdsburg and Purchase of Low Emission Freight Locomotives
- $22 Million for Bay Area Ferry Service
- $18.75 Million for North Coast Fire Defense and Resilience
- $15 Million for Floating Solar Energy
- $6.8 Million to Help Tribal Communities Electrify Homes
- $6 Million for Elk River Estuary Restoration
- $4.1 Million for Tribal Wildfire and Evacuation Route Preparedness
And it’s not just folks in North Coast who are seeing real results. Across the state of California, we’ve delivered:
- $37.5 billion in private sector commitments and $45.1 billion in public investments in clean energy, infrastructure, and manufacturing;
- $7.7 billion for affordable, reliable high-speed internet;
- $30 billion for our roads, bridges, public transit, ports and airports;
- $5.9 billion for electric vehicles and batteries;
- $3 billion to provide clean water and improve water infrastructure, including $278.8 million to replace toxic lead pipes; and
- So much more!
To learn more about how Democrats’ historic investments are impacting our district, check out my dedicated webpage and our interactive map of the many projects underway on the North Coast. As a reminder, I’ve compiled a Grants Summary Guide to help you navigate the hundreds of grants and programs for which you may be eligible.
What supporters of the Invest In America agenda are saying:
“This Community Wildfire Defense Grant will allow Trinity Public Utilities District to dramatically improve wildfire safety for communities of Trinity County. These funds will allow Trinity PUD to increase shaded fuel breaks around our facilities and increase hazard fuel abatement in and around our rights of ways, this will protect critical infrastructure and significantly reduce wildfire risk in Trinity County. We would like to thank Congressman Huffman and his staff for their continued support of Trinity PUD and our projects. We look forward to getting these projects in motion.”
