To inform Rep. Huffman’s development of the RESTORE Act, please submit your comments on the draft and/or the topics below. You need only reply to the topics most relevant to your organization or expertise:
- Suggestions on allocating offshore renewable energy revenues to tribes, coastal communities, and other funds.
- Opportunities to strengthen coastal infrastructure, enhance habitat conservation, and improve community resilience to climate impacts.
- Feedback on mechanisms to address historical injustices, promote tribal sovereignty, and support tribal economic development and mitigation efforts.
- Thoughts on improving fisheries and ecosystem research, minimizing project impacts on marine resources, and enhancing tools for marine management.
- Ideas for ensuring the bill delivers equitable benefits to affected communities and incorporates meaningful tribal and stakeholder engagement.
- Suggestions for integrating indigenous knowledge into conservation and resilience efforts while fostering partnerships between tribes and other stakeholders.
- Any additional feedback or recommendations on how the RESTORE Act could better achieve its goals.
