Point Reyes Workforce Housing
The County of Marin, in partnership with the Community Land Trust Association of West Marin (CLAM), is leading the Point Reyes Workforce Housing Project, which will create permanent affordable housing for approximately 50 extremely low-income residents. Located on a one-acre site in Point Reyes Station, the project will replace interim transitional units with long-term housing solutions for workers and families at risk of displacement. This investment will stabilize West Marin’s essential workforce and strengthen the region’s rural economy, and this new funding will help contribute to construction and maintenance efforts.
“I’m deeply grateful to Congressman Huffman for his leadership in securing $2 million in federal funding for the Point Reyes Workforce Housing Project. As the community navigates the impacts of ranching and dairy closures in the Seashore, this funding for future affordable housing comes at an important time. It’s about keeping West Marin a place where people who work here can continue to live here and raise their families, support our schools, and keep our rural economy strong. This is a powerful example of what we can accomplish when community, County, and federal partners work together,” said Marin County Supervisor Rodoni.
“This $2 million federal investment secured by Congressman Huffman is a critical lifeline for West Marin families facing displacement. At our 6th and B Streets site, in partnership with Marin County, we are moving quickly to bring people into safe, dignified homes now while laying the foundation for long-term affordable housing that will support West Marin's essential workforce and families,” said Jarrod Russell, Executive Director of CLAM.
“We are deeply grateful to Congressman Huffman for recognizing the urgency of this housing crisis. This funding reflects a shared commitment to community, stability, and ensuring that long-time members of West Marin are not forced to leave the place they call home,” said Lynn Giacomini Stray, CLAM Board President.
