Rep. Huffman Secures $1.7 Million for Sonoma Valley County Sanitation District
San Rafael, CA – Today, U.S. Representative Jared Huffman (CA-02) announced that he secured $1,745,513.24 in federal funding for Sonoma Valley County Sanitation District's Seismic Retrofit of Secondary Treatment Clarifiers Project. Funds for this grant were awarded through the the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
About the Project
This grant will fund to seismic retrofit the secondary treatment clarifiers of the Sonoma Valley County Sanitation District's wastewater treatment plant to meet current seismic standards including the ability to withstand hydrodynamic (sloshing) loads and to minimize the risk of structural damage and catastrophic failure during a major earthquake. This award is pursuant to the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act, Section 404, as amended by the Disaster Recovery Reform Act of 2018, and 44 CFR Part 206.434.
