Huffman working with State Dept. on kidnapped McKinleyville man
October 18, 2016
Representative Jared Huffman is offering his thoughts and prayers for the McKinleyville man kidnapped from his home in the African country of Niger last Friday.
“My thoughts are with Jeff Woodke and his loved ones during this extremely trying time... it is devastating to see my constituent who has spent his life dedicated to humanitarian service be victimized in this way,” Huffman said.
The Congressman also said that he is working with the State Department to ensure Woodke’s safe return.
Woodke is a humanitarian aid worker who was abducted by gunmen who stormed his home in Niger, killing two people.
It is the first time an American has been kidnapped in this region, and authorities remain on high alert.
