Gualala Community Center Rebuilding
In February 2023, the Gualala Community Center was tragically destroyed in an arson fire that stripped vital resources from our Mendocino communities. The 6,600 sq. ft. facility was built in 1954 by volunteers, and the proposed rebuilding will downsize the facility to 5,000 sq. ft. This funding will contribute to the rebuilding of the space and manage the increased cost of construction.
Janet Pierucci, President, Board of Directors, Gualala Community Center said, “Without Congressman Huffman’s advocacy and the Community Project Funding process, this rebuild would not have been possible for our small, unincorporated town of about 2000 people. The funding received will help us rebuild our building and give our community a vibrant place to gather for special events and a place to be safe in times of need.”
Awarded: $1,000,000
Location: Mendocino County
