Fort Bragg Internet Expansion
Ensuring strong internet access for Fort Bragg and all other cities up and down the North Coast is essential to the education, economic prosperity, and future of our District. This funding will aid the construction of last-mile infrastructure for a Municipal Broadband Utility within Fort Bragg city limits to promote reliable, high-speed internet access and help get our communities the coverage they deserve.
“This project is about investing in our future. With support from the federal and state partners to help close the digital divide, we’re building a locally owned fiber network that will deliver reliable, high-speed internet to homes and businesses throughout Fort Bragg. By bringing broadband under local control, we’re strengthening economic opportunity, supporting remote work and education, improving public safety communications, and ensuring long-term affordability for our community. I’m deeply grateful to our federal partners, City staff, and community members who have helped move this project forward. I’m proud of the progress we’re making together and the lasting impact this investment will have for generations to come,” said Fort Bragg City Manager Isaac Whippy.
