The funding would be used to purchase a permanent location for Make It Home’s furniture bank and career development services for transition-age foster and underserved youth. The new space would allow Make It Home to add to the number of low-income individuals and families served and further reduce the amount of furniture ending up in landfill. The new space will also allow the organization to expand an on-site career development program for transition-age foster and underserved youth. "We are profoundly grateful for Congressman Huffman's steadfast support of our organization. His commitment to our cause is instrumental in MAKE IT HOME's efforts to serve and make a meaningful impact within the community. We are thrilled with this initial funding enabling us to secure a permanent place in the community where we can continue our mission to furnish household for families and individuals transitioning out of crisis in our community. We look forward to our continued collaboration and are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead to make a positive difference in the lives of many,” said Carolyn Flannery, founder of MAKE IT HOME.
