Reps. Huffman, Schiff, Chu, Carbajal Join Virtual Event to Urge Passage of Bill Package to Preserve One Million Acres of CA Public Lands and Wilderness

Washington, D.C. – Tomorrow, Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 12:30pm ET/9:30am PT, U.S. Representatives Jared Huffman (D-San Rafael), Adam Schiff (D-Burbank), Judy Chu (D-Pasadena), and Salud Carbajal (D-Santa Barbara) will participate in a virtual event to discuss a large package of public lands bills that the House of Representatives will vote on this Friday, called the Protecting America’s Wilderness and Public Lands Act, or PAW Act.

The package is strongly supported by the Biden Administration and would help meet state and federal goals to conserve 30% of public lands and waters by 2030.

It includes four key bills aimed at protecting and preserving one million acres of public land across California:

  • Rim of the Valley Corridor Preservation Act, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Burbank)
  • San Gabriel Mountains Foothills and Rivers Protection Act, Rep. Judy Chu (D-Pasadena)
  • Northwest California Wilderness, Recreation, and Working Forests Act, Rep. Jared Huffman (D-San Rafael)
  • Central Coast Heritage Protection Act, Rep. Salud Carbajal (D-Santa Barbara)
