Huffman Releases Results of COVID-19 Constituent Survey, Calls Out Inadequate Senate GOP Bill
Washington, D.C. – Today, Representative Jared Huffman (D-San Rafael) released the results of his online Coronavirus Relief and Recovery Survey, which he launched earlier this month. The survey’s purpose was to allow constituents to share their thoughts on pandemic response policies, including what additional federal actions should be taken to support constituents’ health and economic well-being in California’s second congressional district.
“Two and a half months after Democrats passed the Heroes Act, a comprehensive plan for defeating coronavirus and safely reopening the country, the Senate GOP has finally countered with a late, weak, piecemeal proposal that fails to meet the moment,” said Rep. Huffman. “The Senate’s plan falls woefully short of what my constituents need to weather this storm. It does more for Pentagon spending and corporate executive tax breaks than it does for those who have lost their jobs or are worried about where their next meal will come from. I’d like to thank my engaged constituents for taking the time to tell me how the pandemic is affecting them and their loved ones, and what they think Congress should include in the next response to this public health and economic crisis. I know the pandemic and economic crisis is far from over, and I will continue working hard to obtain more relief for families, state and local governments, and small businesses—while prioritizing the safety of my constituents.”
The survey was completed by over 7,400 respondents. Full results of Rep. Huffman’s Coronavirus Relief and Recovery Survey are as follows:
