Inauguration Tickets Update

December 10, 2020

Hello,

I am still hard at work on year-end business including COVID relief, federal funding bills that cover key priorities for our district, and getting ready for the new congressional session that begins in January -- but I wanted to take a moment to update you on the upcoming presidential inauguration.

I've received a lot of inquiries about tickets to the inaugural ceremonies to be held in January in Washington, and I know President-elect Biden's team is working hard to figure out how to hold these important events safely. I will continue to collect your expressions of interest, but I want to be very clear that given the COVID-19 positivity rates in CA and DC, I firmly believe it would be unsafe and irresponsible for me to facilitate non-essential travel to the nation’s capital for public gatherings.

As a result, regrettably, I have decided not to facilitate tours and tickets to any in-person events, including to any potential in-person inauguration ceremonial events – not even for my own family – until it's safe to travel. But I will, however, continue look for any opportunities to help coordinate virtual participation in the inaugural ceremonies and do everything possible to facilitate participation by interested constituents in those virtual events.

If you would like to keep up with the work I am doing as your representative, please subscribe to my newsletter, and follow me on FacebookTwitter, and Instagram. As I continue my important work for the people of California’s Second District, please don’t hesitate to contact my office for assistance if you are in need.

Thank you, and stay well,

Jared Huffman
Member of Congress
