Marin City Public Housing Lighting Energy Efficiency Upgrades
The funding will be used to perform energy efficiency upgrades to the lighting and power infrastructure throughout the historic 296-unit Golden Gate Village public housing complex in Marin City, including the installation of 524 energy efficient LED exterior lighting fixtures. The historic district’s internal and external lighting and power line networks have not been upgraded in any substantial way since their original construction in 1960. The existing fixtures are not only energy inefficient, but extremely costly to maintain and challenging to keep in working order. This project will result in significant energy savings, carbon emission reductions, and annual cost savings from both lower utility bills and reduced maintenance.
